I’ve been working in marketing for over 15 years in a range of sectors but nothing has been more varied than my role at Zero Carbon Futures. I’m responsible for all the marketing and promotion of both our company and also the projects that we manage. One day I can be running public campaigns to encourage people to try out electric driving, the next I can be running conferences and events on the future of e-mobility – the latest one being in Eastern Europe.
It has to be running the ‘Why Not Electric?’ electric vehicle marketing campaign. My favourite strapline is from that campaign: ‘Fuel your car for the price of a cappuccino’.
I wish I’d never done
When we installed a charge point at Northumberland Cheese Factory, I took part in the photoshoot. I still get tweeted the occasional cheese pun by my so-called friends.
“I love our Nissan LEAF so much that I can often be found trying to convert taxi drivers to electric driving on my nights out.”
I’m passionate about digital marketing and recently got involved in Google’s Digital Garage project to provide help and advice to businesses in the North East on all aspects of digital.
OLEV’s new scheme to fund residential on-street charge points is a welcome step in helping those without access to parking to purchase an electric car but careful consideration is required from local authorities.read more
