Profile: Stephen Burr
As the Training Business Development and Delivery Manager at Zero Carbon Futures, I have worked in education for 10 years developing low carbon technology training for the Retail Motor Industry and Emergency Services both nationally and Internationally. I bring with me a wealth of technical knowledge and training experience around the low carbon transport sector. I am responsible for driving forward wider adoption and awareness through training and skills development of all future green curriculum through close development work with SMEs, industry and professional awarding bodies.
Working with Nissan manufacturing UK and the awarding bodies on the development of EV and Hybrid training programmes for both Engineers and the wider Retail Motor Industry has been particularly interesting.

“Education is a key enabler to ensuring wider adoption of these technologies. We must prepare everyone now for the new propulsion systems that don’t burn dinosaurs as a fuel.”
Like James I also live in rural Northumberland. I swim 3 times a week and cycle at the weekends in between grandad duties. I do practice what I preach and have a Zoe EV for work and local journeys and a Toyota Prius for the longer ones. One day I will own a TESLA S!
OLEV’s new scheme to fund residential on-street charge points is a welcome step in helping those without access to parking to purchase an electric car but careful consideration is required from local authorities.read more
